As I sit and write a personal note on the back of recipe cards (a holiday project that I'll show you guys in the next day or two) I thought I'd do one of my "What's in the Mix" posts. I think random holiday music is pretty appropriate tonight so here are the next ten random songs pulled from my holiday iTunes playlist.
- Baby, It's Cold Outside - Elf Soundtrack (I love the sweetness of Zooey Deshanel's voice matched with Leon Redbone's bass. I love this song and play it on the piano for the Firefighter and I to sing.)
- One Little Christmas Tree - Stevie Wonder (Can't go wrong with Stevie)
- Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas - the Pretenders (I remember buying this first 'A Very Special Christmas' as a cassette and I still love supporting these compilations that support the Special Olympics. Most of these songs are from those albums.)
- The Chanukah Song - Adam Sandler (I love the trilogy but this first one is the best!)
- All I Want for Christmas is You - My Chemical Romance (you're probably starting to figure out what kind of holiday songs I prefer)
- The Little Drummer Boy - Johnny Cash (Dude, Johnny Cash!)
- A Great Big Sled - The Killers (as much as I love classics I enjoy these less known ones almost as much)
- Frosty the Snowman - the original (... what the...? I must have put this on here when my daughter was little. Can we pretend this didn't play?)
- Happy Xmas - The Fray (okay, I was hoping that the John Lennon version would pop up because this is my all time favorite holiday song. Ever, in ever-ness. But this is a cool version)
- The Little Drummer Boy - Sean Kingston (yes a repeat, but I always need a reggae fix so it's all good)
- (...because 8 never happened...) Silent Night - Boyz ll Men (beautiful acapella harmonies!)
