If you haven't noticed, I love craft projects. I can trace this back to kindergarten. Cutting and gluing, next to swinging on the monkey bars, was my favorite thing to do! And, of course, baking is right up there on that list too. So, I decided to make Cookies in a Jar for our friends and family (if you are reading this and didn't get one yet, I still may have one for you! lol). I did this a few years back and decided that this would be a fun family activity and it really was. Even my very cool 17 year old got in on it.

I used wide mouth mason jars to hold the dry goods. (I collect vintage jars and used some filled with wild flowers at my wedding.) Each jar got a recipe card so the recipients knew what they were making and how to make them. I found these cute, vintagy cards over at The Shabby Princess.

One thing I've come to realize lately is that I'm a scrapbook supply hoarder! I love all my papers and accents and never want to use them. I'm trying to over come that, so to dress up the card a bit I pulled out a bag of buttons, ribbon and raffia.

We set up an assembly line, including the firefighter, and had 24 done in no time at all.

And the finished jars...

Wishing you and your family a sweet new year too.
xoxo
